Here are some ways that agents are finding nontraditional workspaces.
Agents ask me all the time, “Do I need an office?”
The short answer is no. I work with a ton of agents who crush it without a brick and mortar. These agents are utilizing every sort of office space you can imagine, from a home office, to a retail office, to everything in between.
One agent I work with rents a desk inside of a Realtor’s office and uses that opportunity to work referrals from the other agents in that office. It’s a super smart move.
Another agent I work with wants the amenities of a large office without the commitment. He uses a virtual office space with conference rooms, media rooms, large office suites, and shared desk spaces. He can use the office a la carte and only when he needs it.
Other agents I work with have dumped the large overhead agency model. They’re giving up their large rent offices in the Bay Area and moving out of state where they can operate at a fraction of the cost. One agent I’m working with just moved to Tennessee.
I hope this gives you some ideas about your office space. It’s a reminder that you really get to reimagine your agency in today’s world and do it how you’d like. Every situation is unique, so if you have any questions or want to find the approach that will help you succeed, don’t hesitate to reach out via phone or email.
